The ruling NDA coalition candidate Draupadi Murmu on Friday filed her nomination for the Presidential election in presence of several top leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president JP Nadda.

Murmu had earlier thanked all and sought cooperation from everyone for the presidential election. "I will meet all the voters (lawmakers) and seek their support before July 18,” she had said.

Meanwhile, Murmu has reportedly spoken with Congress interim-President Sonia Gandhi, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and NCP chief Sharad Pawar seeking their party's support for her candidature in the Presidential election.

Extending support to the NDA Presidential candidate, Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma today said, "I'm extremely thrilled. It has been a part of our ideology. My late father PS Sangma had once said that one day a tribal person will become the president of India. It's a dream come true for all of us."

On the other hand, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has called a meeting of its legislators and MPs, tomorrow (June 25), pertaining to the decision on extending support to the Presidential election candidates. The meeting is set to be chaired by the party supremo, Shibu Soren.
