Rourkela: In a broad daylight robbery, armed miscreants looted cash of about Rs 65,000 and gold ornaments from a house of a businessman in civil township area under Raghunathpalli police limit of the city this afternoon. SP Himansu Lal said a three-member armed robbers entered into the house of Kuldip Singh and robbed cash and gold.

Singh`s wife Harvinder Kaur was alone in the first floor of the house when the robbers attacked her and left with the booty. The housewife was admitted at a private hospital with cut injuries on her head. Police reached the spot and a man hunt was on to nab the robbers. In an another incident, Rs 10 lakh was found short at the Uditnagar State Bank of India.

The SP said shortage of such an huge amount was found by the bank officials after the closing of transaction hour. A police team rushed to the bank and investigation to the incident is on. However, SP says the cash might have missed with the tacit support of internal bank staff.
