Jajpur: A 45-year-old man was arrested on Thursday for allegedly raping his 14-year-old step daughter in Kalinga Nagar industrial complex area in Jajpur district, police sources said.

Kailash Khatua of Manoharpur village allegedly raped the girl when her mother was away from house on Monday night, they said.

The mother of the victim, a daily wage earner at a steel plant in Kalilnga Nagar Industrial complex, on Wednesday lodged a complaint with the police after being told about the incident by the victim, they said.

Kailash was arrested on the basis of the complaint, Inspector-in-charge of Kalinga Nagar police station K C Mundsaid.
