Bhubaneswar: Son of industrialist Trailokya Mishra, Sabyasachi Mishra, was arrested today by the Mahila Police on charges of harassing his wife Lopamudra Mishra.

Sabyasachi was held from his residence located in Kharvel Nagar of Bhubaneswar after period of the interim protection provided by the Orissa High Court got over. Besides, a bail application filed by him to avoid the arrest was rejected by the court.

“It has become a business. Not only women get exploited, men also get exploited,” said Sabyasachi. Commenting on the wife swapping charges brought by Lopamudra, Sabyasachi said, “If wife swapping was done, then how come she stayed with me for 13 years.”

“Let the law take its own course, but what is concerning me is that till date Trailokya Mishra is yet to be arrested. His anticipatory bail has also been rejected. They should all be arrested, I should be granted justice. I and my son are living in a sorry state since past one year. I want alimony,” said Lopamudra.

The daughter-in-law of Trailokya had lodged a complaint at the Mahila police station in Bhubaneswar last June alleging that Sabyasachi used to harass her mentally as well as physically.

Lopamudra had also lodged police complaints against other family members of Sabyasachi.

The Orissa High Court had granted an interim protection to Sabyasachi and his family from arrest in last July.
