Rourkela: In yet another case of a man with seemingly humble beginnings turning into a man of crores in a matter of years — the vigilance sleuths in a raid on the residences of an NMR employee has raised serious questions about his conduct and professional practice.

Bighnesh Swain employed with the check gate of Biramitrapur in Sundergarh district allegedly amassed wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income. In simultaneous raids by vigilance on various residences of Swain at four different places revealed some highly objectionable and intriguing facts.  

As per vigilance reports, Swain drawing a salary of meagre Rs 2,500 per month — owned property running into crores.

The list of property included his three storied building in Civil Township in Rourkela worth of around Rs 46 lakh, his residence in Biramitrapur and in Belpada market complex of around Rs 13 lakh and Rs 18 lakh respectively — and  his ancestral house in Narendrapur worth of Rs 4 lakh.

This apart, Swain was found with the deposits of lakhs of rupees in various bank accounts including two SBI accounts and one in UBI.
