Bhubaneswar: The Khurda Fast Track Court on Wednesday framed charges against Subhashree Panda alias Mili Panda, co accused Sangram Bhol and Kishore Jena for their alleged involvement in terror activities.

Accusing Panda, wife of most-wanted Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda, of a member of terrorist organizations, indulging in conspiracy, terror activities and amassing funds for terror activities, the court framed charges against her under Sec 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 38 and 40 of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act here.

The accused trio was produced before the court today amid tight security. However, Subhashree’s counsel expressed resentment over the charges made by the investigating agency.

“We are dissatisfied with the charges framed by the court. The charges against her (Subhashree) are false, baseless and fabricated”, said Biplab Muduli, Panda’s counsel.

However, the Public Prosecutor refuted the allegations made by his counterpart.

“We have sufficient evidences. So charges were framed under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and no charges were repealed by the Judge. Next hearing will be on January 21 for evidences”, said Public prosecutor Anil Kumar Patnaik.

It may be recalled that the trio was arrested on January 14, 2010. Subhashree and Kishore were kept in Jharpada jail in Bhubaneswar and Choudwar jail in Cuttack respectively while Sangram is out on bail.
