Lucknow: Claiming that no political party in Uttar Pradesh would get absolute majority in 2012 Assembly polls, senior Congress leader and Union Minister Beni Prasad Verma today said his party would see its tally "increase tremendously".

"As the political scenario in the state is unclear, I do not see any party getting absolute majority in the Assembly polls. While seats of BSP, SP and BJP will come down, Congress will be the major gainer in the coming polls," Verma said.

At the same time, he said that the results would see the performance of the Congress improving vastly.

Referring to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi`s fast, he said it was just a "drama".

He also dubbed as a political gimmick Chief Minister Mayawati`s letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh advocating reservation for minorities and poor among the upper caste.
