Bangalore: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Saturday ruled out resigning from the post in the wake of Governor H R Bhardwaj according sanction for prosecution against him on allegations of land scam and corruption.

"Why should I," he shot back at a press conference here when asked if he would resign in the wake of Governor`s decision.

"If somebody gives a complaint (against a Chief Minister) in India.... has anybody resigned. Why should I," he said.

However, Yeddyurappa parried a questioner who referred to Lalu Prasad Yadav`s resignation from the post of Chief Minister in Bihar after a case of corruption in fooder scam was filed against him.

Lalu, who had defied calls of resignation, resigned as Chief Minister in 1997 after non-bailable arrest warrant was issued against him in the food scam case.
