Acted consistently when faced with credible charges
"This is legal proceedings where the government has acted on the basis of materials available to it. Further action will be necessary subject to law.
"… It does, however, prove that once again beyond doubt that the Congress, whenever faced with credible allegations, has always consistently taken action," party spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi said here.
The Environment ministry today directed the Adarsh Housing Society to demolish within three months the "unauthorised" 31-storey building in upmarket Colaba for violating coastal regulations, and restore the area in its original condition.
Singhvi, at the same time, targeted the main opposition BJP for its criticism on the issue and said "this is in stark contrast to our political opponents who rave and rant but consistently practice what they do not preach".
He also accused BJP of "legitimising" corruption in Karnataka and Uttarakhand, where Chief ministers B S Yeddyurappa and Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, respectively are facing corruption charges.
