Berhampur (Odisha): Six persons were arrested in connection with murder of a woman and injuries to three others, including two children at a village in Odisha's Ganjam district, police said today.
Laxmi Patra (50) was killed and three other family members were injured when miscreants attacked them with sharp weapons and exploded a bomb at their house in Nua Kandhagochha in the early hours of Friday.
An old dispute was suspected to be the cause of the incident, Sub Divisional Police Officer, Aska A C Pahi, said.
Earlier the family of the deceased was socially boycotted by the villagers. Police however started to investigate the exact cause of the attack, the SDPO said.
Those arrested yesterday are Arun Gouda, Bijuli Gouda, Bahan Gouda, Daya Gouda, Bulu Gouda and Tuna Pradhan, police said.
The injured persons were identified as the daughter-in-law, grand daughter and grandson of the deceased, police said.
