New Delhi: The sister of Kirpal Singh, the Indian who died in a Pakistani jail, met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday, seeking his support for an early repatriation of his body.

Jagir Kaur met Kejriwal at his residence, a Delhi government official said. She also sought a probe into the death of her brother who was jailed in Pakistan 25 years ago on espionage charges, the official said.

Kirpal Singh, 54, who was a resident of Gurdaspur in Punjab, was reported to have died of cardiac arrest in a Lahore jail on Monday. His body is still in the morgue of the Jinnah Hospital.

Kejriwal expressed sympathies with Jagir Kaur's family and assured “all possible support in securing justice”, said the official.

Jagir Kaur has questioned the Pakistani government's version of her brother's death.

Jagir Kaur was accompanied by Dalbir Kaur, the elder sister of another Indian, Sarabjit Singh, who also died in the same Pakistani jail in 2013.
