Good news for all candidates who love to serve the country and are seeking a job in the police department, the government has published a notification for recruitment of 6139 Police Constables, Jail Warders and Fireman posts under Police Recruitment 2018. Interested and eligible candidates should apply online before the last date of submission of application form, i.e. January 27, 2018.
The details of the Police Recruitment 2018 are given below.
Age Limit: Applicants' age should be between 18 and 24 years as on July 1, 2017 (Candidates should be born between July 1, 1993 and January 1, 1999, both dates included). However, for Backward Class and Most Backward Class category candidates, the age limit is 18 to 26 years; for SC, SC (Arunthathiyar) and ST Candidates, the age limit is 18 to 29 years.
Pay Scale: Rs 18200 - 52900 for all the posts mentioned.
Physical Standards:
(a) Height: For Men - Minimum 170 cms for General, Minimum 167 cms for SC / ST; For Women - Minimum 170 cms for General, Minimum 167 cms for SC / ST.
(b) Chest: 81 cms (Expansion - 05 cms). For Female, chest standards not required.
Examination Fee: Applicants will have to pay an examination fee of Rs130, through Online Payment mode using Net Banking / Credit Card / Debit Card (OR) Offline mode (e-payment post Offices).
Selection Process: The selection of candidates will completely be based on the written Test, Physical Standard Test (PST) and later a Medical Examination will be conducted.

Special Marks (NCC, NSS, Sports/ Games Certificates) - 05

Police Department Post - Number of Vacancies:
Grade II Police Constable - 5537 posts (Male – 3877, Female – 1661)
Grade II Jail Warders - 365 posts (Male – 319, Female – 46)
Fireman - 237 (Male only)
Total vacancies - 6139 posts
Educational Qualification: Candidates applying for the posts should have passed 10th Class/Matriculation from Tamil Nadu State Board / any other Government Recognized Board. Candidates should have Tamil Language in one of the subjects. Note: 20% Preference will be given for 10th Standard Class Passed in Tamil Medium candidates.
How to Apply: Eligible and interested candidates should apply online through TNUSRB Online Portal. The closing date for submission of Online Applications is January 27, 2018 up to 12pm.
