New Delhi: A 32-year-old man allegedly shot himself dead inside a temple in south-east Delhi's Kalkaji Extension area last night, police said.

According to police, the deceased has been identified as one Deshraj Singh, a resident of Kalkaji Extension.

Police said that Singh, who worked with a private firm at Faridabad, was apparently disturbed over his relations with his wife.

They said that a four-page suicide note has been recovered in which Singh says that the law favours women while referring to a discord in his marital life.

"The incident took place on Sunday night at around 10:30 P.M. Deshraj walked into the temple, prayed there for a while and, then, allegedly shot himself in the head with his gun.

"Those who rushed in to the temple alarmed by the sound of a shot, found him lying in a pool of blood. The suicide note allegedly written by Deshraj was found lying beside him," said a police official.

In the note, he also requested his father to repay a Rs 3 lakh debt which he owed to some people.

The deceased is survived by his wife and two children.

Govindpuri police are investigating the case.
