Leopard dies of injuries in Uttarakhand

The nine-year-old male leopard with serious injuries on its face, stomach and back was spotted by forest guards during patrolling this morning, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of Uttarkashi I P Singh said.

However, before it could be provided medical care, the animal died of its injuries, he said.

The preliminary examination of the leopard has revealed that it might have received the injuries during a fight with another wildcat, Singh said, adding that a postmortem is being conducted to ascertain the cause of its death.
