Puducherry: Union Minister V Narayanasamy on Sunday dubbed Murli Manohar Joshi as a BJP "agent" and alleged that from the "several politically motivated contents" in the draft report on 2G scam, it appeared that he was not acting as the PAC Chairman.

"It was basically wrong for Joshi to submit to the Lok Sabha Speaker the draft report that had been rejected by a majority of members of the panel," the Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs told reporters here.

Joshi had acted solely to tarnish the image of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and also of UPA government with an intention to destablise the government by the report, he charged.

A majority of members of the Public Accounts Committee had rejected the report in view of its several "blatant falsehoods", he said, adding, "the report deserves to be dumped into the dustbin."

Flaying the BJP, he said the party as a whole was a "fountain of malpractices and corruption."

Joshi, who has been appointed as PAC Chairman for a second term, had submitted the report to the Speaker`s Office on April 30, unfazed by the "rejection" of the draft report by Congress, DMK, SP and BSP members by majority in the 21-member Committee.

On the Opposition demand for recall of Lt Governor Iqbal Singh following controversy over his recommendation for expeditious issue of passport to suspected money launderer Hasan Ali Khan, he said the office of Lt Governor came under the total constitutional jurisdiction of the President.

"Hence none could make any comment or pass remarks about the incumbent of the gubernatorial post," he said.

Narayanasamy regretted that the Opposition was trying to derive political mileage on the issue.
