Soni is understood to have raised the issue with Agriculture Minister and ICC President Sharad Pawar after the Cabinet meeting on Tuesday.
Sources said Pawar said that if the only problem was with the formatting of the scoreboard as claimed by the channels then he will look into it.
However, the news channels who had a more than three- hour-long meeting with ICC officials said the issue has not been resolved as ICC is just claiming that they are commercialising the content without giving any details.
"They (ICC) have asked us to sign an undertaking saying that the footage will not be commercialised which is not right," Annie Joseph, Secretary General of News Broadcasters Association, said.
She said that the channels were following the News Access Guidelines for T-20 and one-day matches adding that "if the ICC had an issue they should have come before and not before the semi-finals".
Channels were allowed to cover the world cup semifinals between India and Pakistan after ICC lifted the ban on accredited journalists from the news channels for a day following intervention by Soni.
The Minister has already written a letter to Pawar requesting him to allow the electronic media to cover the event as was the case earlier.
Before the semi-finals, television news channels had decided to desist from accessing ongoing cricket world cup venues including Mohali and covering press conferences and practice sessions in the wake of ICC barring them from these events for alleged violation of media guidelines.
