50-yr-old farmer shot dead in UP

Lakhimpur Kheri: A 50-year-old farmer was shot dead by some unidentified assailants in Neemgaon area of Uttar Pradesh, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Ved Prakash, a resident of Rampur village. According to police sources, Prakash was shot by some unknown miscreants and he died on the spot. His body was recovered from near Rahmatnagar village early this morning.

According to family members of the deceased, he had gone out on his bike yesterday and did not return.

The police is trying to ascertain the motive behind the killing. Though no arrests have been made so far in this connection.
