New Delhi: Slain Naxal leader Kishenji had 42 criminal cases registered against him in five states. Minister of State for Home Jitendra Singh told Rajya Sabha that 24 cases were registered against Kishenji in West Bengal, 10 in Andhra Pradesh, 6 in Jharkhand and one each in Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra.

"These include eight cases of murder/ dacoity with murder," he said, quoting reports made available by Naxal-hit states. A joint team of CRPF and West Bengal Police killed Mallojula A Koteswara Rao alias Kishenji in a fierce gunbattle in West Bengals` West Midnapore district on November 24.
