45 killed as bus falls into gorge in Uttarakhand
Dehradun: At least 45 people were killed after a bus they were travelling in fell into a gorge near the Queens Bridge on the Pipli-Bhaun road in Pauri Garhwal district here today.
Till the latest report, 20 bodies were recovered and eight injured referred to a nearby hospital out of which four sustained critical injuries, sources said.
According to reports, the mini bus, carrying more than 45 passengers was on its way to Ramnagar from Bhoan when the mishap took place.
A team of police, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have rushed to the spot and carrying out the rescue operation. Inspector General of SDRF Sanjay Gunjial has informed that a chopper has been rushed to airlift the remaining injured people.
