Mumbai: Actress Sonakshi Sinha, who will next be seen in period romance drama 'Lootera', says she took cues from yesteryear actresses like Madhubala and Waheeda Rehman for essaying her role in the film.

Sonakshi said her role in this film has been the most difficult and challenging one so far in her career.

"This role has been the most difficult till now. It was quite challenging. I would do both kind of roles - like 'Rowdy Rathore', 'Dabangg' - and 'Lootera' as well," she said.

When asked which of the yesteryear actresses she was inspired by while essaying her role in the film, Sonakshi said, "I would think of Madhubalaji, Waheeda Rehmanji, Suchitra Sen. I am quite excited about this film. I am really looking forward to it."

For the Vikramaditya Motwane film, Sonakshi stepped into the world of 1950s set in Bengal.

This is the first time that Sonakshi would be teaming up with an actor of her generation - Ranveer Singh, as she has so far worked with superstars like Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar.

"It was good working with him (Ranveer). He is a good person and a good co-star. He entertained us on the sets. He does a lot of masti (fun)," Sonakshi said.

Sonakshi made a successful debut with 'Dabangg', thereafter she appeared in 'Rowdy Rathore', 'Joker' and 'Son of Saardar'. All the films were superhits except 'Joker'.

"I am quite happy the way my career is shaping up. I am happy to have done so much work in little time. I feel blessed and lucky. I will keep working hard," she said.

Sonakshi will also be seen in Milan Luthria's 'Once Upon A time In Mumbai 2', Tigmanshu Dhulia's 'Bullet Raja', and Prabhu Deva's film opposite Shahid Kapoor.
