Rajat Barmecha to star in 'Girl in the City'

Mumbai: “Udaan” fame actor Rajat Barmecha will next be seen in the upcoming fiction web series “Girl in the City”.

The series will follow the story of a girl who steps in the bustling city of Mumbai to fulfill her dream of being in the fashion industry. Rajat will be seen in a pivotal cameo in the series.

“I’ve always been fascinated by the concept of a web series, even before it caught on with audiences in India. In an age where the youth is always hooked on to the internet, I think the format is only going to become more and more popular,” Rajat said in a statement.

“In the series I play the role of Kartik, a modern and free-spirited guy who is not afraid to speak his mind. As the series progresses, you will see Kartik becoming one of the strongest pillars of support to the girl protagonist,” he added.

The 13 episode series will first go live on Facebook starting April 28, followed by broadcast on Bindass TV channel and a wider digital release on YouTube.
