Mumbai: Director Vikramaditya Motwane of 'Udaan' fame says involvement of too many individuals as producers limits creativity and he likes his film producer to believe in his script and respect his vision of a movie.

"My producer should believe in my script. He should respect my vision of a movie. He should be someone who I can call at odd hours. I think he should also sit during editing. He must state his point of view too," Motwane said at the 14th Mumbai Film Festival here.

He was speaking at a panel discussion 'Who is the Producer?' at the ongoing 14th Mumbai Film Festival that opened here on Thursday.

The discussion was to understand the role of a producer and to decide on the number of producers for a film.

"I am not in favour of having too many producers on board, because I feel it limits the creativity. I feel there should be just one producer so that the director can fight and argue with one or two people, three makes it a mess," Motwane said.

Apart from Motwane, those present during the panel discussion, include Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios, Guneet Monga co-producer of 'Gangs of Wasseypur', Shrishti Arya, who co-produced 'London Paris New York' with brother Goldie Behl and producer Julian Alcantara were also a part of the panel.
