Mumbai: Actor Omi Vaidya, who rose to fame playing the role of Chatur Ramalingam in `3 Idiots`, says portraying the character of Milind Kelkar in his forthcoming comedy `Dil To Baccha Hai Ji` was challenging and he had to do lot of hard work in pulling off the role.

He also said that he was more proud of `Dil To... than `3 Idiots` as he had to do something different than what he is.

"I was very worried about if I could really do this role because I was born in Los Angeles and this character (Milind) was born in Pune and he had to be very realistic," Omi says adding "I worked very very hard to get the accent correct and it came out very well."

Omi is playing the role of Milind Kelkar,a Maharashtrian in `Dil To Baccha Hai Ji` which is his second film. Directed by Madhur Bhandarkar, the film also stars Ajay Devgn and Emrran Hashmi and will hit the screens on January 26.

Omi says he worked very hard on this role and definitely needed Madhur`s confidence to pull off this role.

"I think I am more proud of this film than I am actually of `3 Idiots` because I had to do something very different than what I am," the 28-year-old who speaks fluent Marathi said.

Omi says though, many offers were coming, he has been choosy. "After looking at many films (scripts) I picked up `Dil To Baccha Hai Ji` because I know this was something special and something different," he added.

After `3 Idiots`, there are lot of expectations from me to do well in this movie, he said and expressed confidence that `Dil To Baccha Hai Ji` was going to do well.

"I think this movie would also do very well and everyone is going to enjoy me in the role of Milind Kelkar as they loved Chatur," Omi signs off.
