Mumbai: Actress Rituparna Sengupta, who will be seen playing a pivotal character in "Main Khudiram Bose Hun" -- which delves on West Bengal's revolutionary leader Khudiram Bose -- thinks the young generation must know about the real heroes of the country.

"Making a film on Khudiram Bose itself is a great thought. Our youth must know about them (people like him). These films are important to uplift their mind and thinking, so that they don't deviate. Youth should know our country stands on these people's sacrifices," Rituparna said here.

Talking about her character in the film, the actress said: "I am playing the character of the elder sister of Khudiram. She had a huge impact on Khudiram's short, but purposeful life."

"I am very proud to be a part of this film because we rarely get this kind of subject and character to portray. I am attached to many films, but this one is really special. Not only for Bengal, his sacrifice was important for the entire country. Leaders like Khudiram are the unsung heroes," she added.

The period drama promises to showcase facets about the life of Khudiram Bose.

Directed by Manoj Giri and Bhanu Prakash Jha, the film features Kanishk Kumar Jain in the title role.
