Chennai: The Income Tax Department on Friday conducted raids at the residences and offices of Malayalam superstars Mohanlal and Mammootty, reports said.

The raids were conducted in Kochi, Bangalore and Chennai. On July 11, the Income Tax sleuths raided the houses of several Kannada film makers and distributors and seized many documents. Reports said that the I-T officials raided the houses of Kannada TV and film stars Ravikiran, Sihi Kahi Chandru and K Manju and others at Teachers Colony, J P Nagar, Vijayanagar, Sadashivanagar, Jayanagar etc.

The raids took place in the morning and documents related to financial transactions were seized. I-T officials said that there was information about financial irregularities.
