Mumbai: Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap says his upcoming film `Gangs of Wasseypur` is commercial and "an item" movie.

The film is set in Wasseypur, a small town near Dhanbad in Jharkhand, and tells a tale of revenge.

"Gangs of Wasseypur is commercial film with music, songs and all, without big stars. Our agenda was to make a full-fledged commercial film. The film is based on true stories of Wasseypur. It is funny, sad and there is full-on action. It is a family drama, which is set across three generations and six decades," Kashyap told reporters here.

"It is a desi...very rooted film. At the same time it is authentic film...as the film is based on many true stories. There are lots of characters in the film that are still living there but we have changed the names," he said.

The trailer of was unveiled today. The star cast of the film includes Manoj Bajpayee, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Syed Zeeshan Quadri, Aditya Kumar and Reemma Sen.

When asked if there are any item numbers in the film, Kashyap jokingly said, "My film has 25 item songs. In fact, it is an item film. When film is item, then item numbers are not required."

The film will be released in two parts. "The story was such that I wanted to depict the full story. I did not want to leave it in the middle, no matter how long the film becomes.

We have made a five-hour 20 minutes movie. It is divided into two parts but both the parts have their individual story."
