Srinagar: Children Film Society of India (CFSI) has organised the first ever kids` film festival for underprivileged children of Kashmir valley.

The four-day fest - `Lukchar` (Childhood) – was inaugurated by state Tourism and Culture Minister Nawang Rigzin Jora at Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre on Sunday.

Films on various subjects and plays would be screened and staged for underprivileged children of the valley during the festival, an official spokesman said.

“Such film festivals would provide opportunities to the children to explore their talent in a broader canvas,”Jora said addressing the inaugural function.

He said the children film festival would be made an annual feature of tourism activities in the state.
