New Delhi: Chocolate-boy actor Emraan Hashmi who has essayed several dark characters in Bollywood says accepting that everybody has a villainous shade just makes life better.

“All of us have a dark side to us but we just try and shy away from talking about it. I am not ashamed of my own dark side and am very comfortable with it,” Hashmi said in an interview.

The actor was in the national capital to witness staging of the Mahesh Bhatt-produced play “The Last Salute”, based on the book and life of Iraqi scribe, Muntadhar Al-Zaidi who hurled his footwear at US President George W Bush.

Emraan Hashmi, who has previously been cast in negative roles in `Murder`, `Gangster`, `Once Upon A Time in Mumbai` among other films is now awaiting this week`s release `Murder 2` an erotic thriller that tries to explore the other side of human nature and where he plays yet another dark character.
