Mumbai: Bollywood`s ever green star Dev Anand turned 88 today.

The actor-filmmaker celebrated his birthday by cutting a cake before the mediapersons.

"Unfortunately my phone is not working today and my son was getting lots of calls as my fans want to wish me," he told reporters here.

"I love my fans and seek their good wishes all the time," he added.

Dev Anand said he is throwing a party this evening, which would be attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan among others.

"There will be a party in the evening where prominent personalities are coming. The CM is also coming and I will be cutting the cake. There are lot of fans who want to meet me, wish me on my birthday, so I will be doing that," he said.

The veteran of films like `Guide`, `Johnny Mera Naam` and Jewel Thief, said he is looking forward to his upcoming film `Chargesheet`, which releases on September 30.

He refuted reports that he is making a movie based on the mysterious death of actress Divya Bharti.

"It (the film) is not based on anyone. It is all false. I do not believe in the theory of copying. I am looking forward to the movie."
