Bigg Boss 11: Shilpa Shinde Beats Hina Khan To Become Winner

Mumbai: After nearly three months, curtains come down on the non-stop drama-packed reality series Bigg Boss 11 season with former Babhiji Ghar Par Hain actor Shilpa Shinde beating Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai star Hina Khan to win the Bigg Boss trophy.

Host Salman Khan declared Shilpa as the winner who received a cash prize of Rs 44 lakh and winner trophy, while actor Hina Khan was awarded silver trophy. Actor Akshay Kumar was also present on the stage to promote his movie "Padman".

Vikas Gupta who was evicted from the show earlier today was declared the second runner-up while Puneesh Sharma completing the top four participants who made it to the grand finale.

Shilpa’s journey to the top was a remarkable one as she entered the show as a celebrity contestant and after nearly three months of hardcore battle with several popular contestants, she managed to win the coveted prize.

Shilpa's motherly nature and caring attitude won her lot of fans, both inside and outside the Bigg Boss house. Though she was criticised for being laid back while performing tasks in the show, her self sacrificing attitude and emotional nature, she kept on going. She also received praises from all around for her patient approach even when things were not going her way.

"I still can't believe it has happened. I think if people made me a winner it is because they got to see my real personality," an emotional Shilpa after winning the trophy was quoted as saying by IANS.
