Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to fill 1.62 lakh vacancies in police department, informed the State’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at a public function in Gorakhpur.

The Chief Minister said jobs will be provided to youths of the State on merit basis.

The CM’s announcement comes over 10 days after the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotions Board (UPPRPB) issued a notification for direct recruitment for Civil and PAC (Provincial Armed Constabulary) Constables.

The online application process has started on January 22, 2018.

The selection process includes a written test, document verification and physical standard test and physical fitness test.

The application is invited from male applicants only for a total of 23,520 vacancies for Civil and 18,000 vacancies for PAC Constables.
