Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Staff Selection Commission has directed the candidates who have filled wrong information in online application for the post of Assistant Commercial Tax Officer (ACTO)-2016, to submit a written request to the Commission by October 31 for correction of the data.

The candidature will be rejected if they don't do this, a notification issued by the Commission said.

The preliminary examination for the said post will be held on November 26. Candidates have been asked to download the admit card from the official website of the Commission two weeks before the test.

To download the admit card, the candidates have to visit www.ossc.gov.in and click on "Download Admit Card" button. No admission letter will be despatched to any candidate by post or any other means, the notification said.

The preliminary exam will be of 100 marks based on general awareness with multiple choice questions based on Arithmetic, General Knowledge, English, and Odia. The general knowledge includes subjects like general science, Current events, history, geography, Indian constitution and social economic issues.

Candidates about 12 times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted for main exam which consist of three papers- Arithmatic, English and General Knowledge. There is no negative mark system for wrong answers in mains while in preliminary test, one wrong answer will fetch 0.25 negative mark.

The successful candidates will be called for viva voce test which is of 30 marks.

The final list will be prepared basing on the marks secured in the main written examination and interview.

The commission had issued notification in August 2016 inviting all eligible India candidates having Odia as a subject in school level to fill up 115 posts on contractual basis.
