JEE Main 2018: CBSE provides important info

Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: JEE Main 2018 aspirants can now remove the discrepancies in their uploaded image on the official website of JEE – jeemain.nic.in. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has provided a link under the ‘Current Events’ section of the website for the candidates to make any changes or correction in their images.

A new page will open after clicking on the link where already registered candidates can sign in by entering their application number and password and the given security pin. Subsequently, the candidates can make required changes after logging in.

JEE Main 2018, conducted by CBSE as the first process of admission to top technical institutions across India, is scheduled to be held on April 8, 2018, and the computer-based exam will be conducted on April 15 and April 16, 2018.

The application process has started from December 1. Candidates can visit the JEE website to register themselves as there is no printed application form for the exam.

Candidates have to go through the eligibility criteria laid down for JEE (Main), JEE (Advanced) and participating State Institutions before applying for the exam.

Since the states of Madhya Pradesh, Nagaland and Odisha have joined JEE (Main) system from 2014. The age limit, for admission to institutions in these states which were earlier admitting candidates based on their state level examinations, will be as per their past practice only.

Admission to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs participating though Central Seat Allocation Board will be based on All India Rank subject to the condition that the candidate should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12thclass examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST candidates the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12thclass examination.

It is worthwhile to mention that the JEE (Main) secretariat/CBSE is only an examination conducting body. After declaration of result the data is handed over to Seat Allocation Board or the concerned state government/institute for Seat Allocation Process and admission procedure.
