Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has changed the date sheet of  Class 12 board examinations.

In a notification, the board has stated that Class 12 examination date for Physical Education, has been revised to 10.30am on April 13 from April 9 (as placed in the earlier time table) while the dates of examination for other subjects will stay the same.

The move comes after students, parents and teachers protested the board's decision to hold some examinations whose dates fall close to date of competitive examinations such as the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE). It is to be noted that as per the earlier time table, the physical education exam was scheduled just a day before the IIT JEE which falls on April 8.

Similarly, the board's decision to conduct history exam on March 20 followed by mathematics on March 21 has also raised concerns that preparations could get severely affected and cause students stress with no break in between

As per the time table, three exams have been scheduled without a break from April 5 to 7 for students of the humanities stream — psychology on April 5, political science on April 6 and legal studies on April 7.

This apart, Science students had also raised concerns over assignment of only a day’s gap for the physics exam on March 7 after English paper on March 5.
