Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: Government Job Aspirants, here is what you have been waiting for all the while to get into the railway sector as the Southern Railways and Western Railways have invited applications and released recruitment notification to fill up 1470 vacancies under the Indian Railway Recruitment 2018. Interested and eligible candidates should apply soon.
Details like Age Limit, Educational Qualification, Selection Process, Application Fee and How to apply for each of the recruitment boards are given below.
SOUTHERN RAILWAY RECRUITMENT:
Age Limit: Applicants’ age should be between 15 and 22 and 15 to 24 years depending on the posts they are applying for as on January 23, 2018.
Welder, Painter, Fitter, Electrician and R&AC: 15 to 22 Years
Medical Laboratory Technician (Radiology, Pathology and Cardiology): 15 to 24 Years
However, the upper age is relaxable up to 3 Years for OBC candidates, 5 Years for SC/ST candidates and 10 Years for Persons with disability (PH).

Educational Qualification:
Fitter, Painter & Welder: Should have passed 10th Class under 10, +2 System of education or its equivalent.
Electrician: Should have passed 10th Class under 10, +2 System of education with Science as one of the subjects or its equivalent
Refrigeration and Air conditioning Mechanic: Should have passed 10th Class under 10, +2 System of education with Science (Physics and Chemistry) and Mathematics or its equivalent
Medical Laboratory Technician (Radiology, Pathology, Rardiology): Should have passed 12th Class under 10, +2 system of education with Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

STANDARD OF MEDICAL FITNESS:
The Candidates should be free from evidence of any contagious or infectious disease. The candidates should not be suffering from any disease which is likely to be aggravated by training or is likely to render him/her unfit for training or to endanger the health of the public. Candidates should be free from evidence of tuberculosis in any form (active or healed).
a) Height: 137 cms.
b) Weight: 4 kgs.
c) Chest measurement: Expansion should not be less than 5 Cms (irrespective of size of chest)
d) Vision: There should be no evidence of any morbid condition of either eye or the lids of either eye which may be liable to risk or aggravation or recurrence.
Selected candidates should satisfy the minimum standards of Physical Fitness as prescribed in the Apprentices Act/Rules and the standard prescribed for imparting training to the relevant trades should be certified by a Railway Doctor.

APPLICATION
- a) Applications should be in the prescribed printed form only which can be downloaded from the website www.sr.indian railways.gov.in
- b) A crossed Indian Postal order for Rs.100/- ( Rupees Hundred only) drawn not earlier than the date of issue of this notification (Not Refundable) drawn in favour of the WORKSHOP PERSONNEL OFFICER, CARRIAGE AND WAGON WORKS, SOUTHERN RAILWAY, PERAMBUR, CHENNAI - 600 023 and payable at CHENNAI should be enclosed along with filled in application towards Processing Fee. Applications without the processing fee, will be summarily rejected.
- b) SC/ST/PWD/Women Candidates are exempted from the payment of Processing Fee.
- c) Candidates should submit only one application irrespective of the number of trades/units applied for.
- d) Candidates shall apply only one category of Fresher category, Ex.ITI or MLT.
Note: The seats reserved for SC/ST may be interchanged for want of eligible SC/ST candidates. Similarly the seats remaining unfilled by OBC Candidates will be filled by unreserved Category.

WESTERN RAILWAY RECRUITMENT:
The Western Railways has also issued a notification for the recruitment of Junior Engineer, Station Master, Helper, and Supervisor and Other Vacancies. Interested candidates may apply soon as the last date to apply is February 14, 2018.
Educational Qualification:
Candidates willing to apply for Western Railway Recruitment 2018 Notification to fill in a total of 753 Junior Engineer and other vacancies must have completed Degree from any recognized University/ College. They should also possess an ITI Certificate in the relevant trade from any well known institute.
Age Limit:
Candidates are required to read the official notification.
Minimum Age – 18 Years
Maximum Age – 24 Years
Age Relaxation: – SC/ ST /OBC/PWD/ PH Candidates Relaxation as per Government Rule Regulation.
