Disabled minor girl lured with chocolates, raped

Bhubaneswar:  A hearing-impaired minor girl  was allegedly raped by a 60-year-old in Mancheswar area of Bhubaneswar on Monday. The accused, identified as Arun Naik was arrested and forwarded to court on basis of a complaint filed by the minor girl. Naik is a resident of Purusottam slum, informed police.

As per the complainant, Naik entered the girl's house when she was alone. He then took her to his house on pretext of giving her chocolates and raped her. The matter came to light after the girl reveled the matter to her family members who immediately lodged a police complaint.

Bhubaneswar DCP Anup Kumar Sahu said, "The medical examination of the girl has been carried out. Her statement will be recorded under Sec 164 of CrPC. As she is a hearing impaired, experts will be engaged to understand her signs."

The police will ensure that chargesheet  in the case is filed at the earliest, Sahu added.
