Man arrested for marrying woman by posing as IAS officer

Baripada: Police on Monday night arrested a man on charges of impersonating an IAS officer and marrying a woman at Damodarpur village under Khunta block in Mayurbhanj district.

The accused identified as Rajat Panda of Tihidi area in Bhadrak district faked himself as IAS officer Lingaraj Panda posted in Sambalpur district and married the woman- an ASHA worker about 15 days back.

After the marriage, Panda went to Bhadrak for a brief period and returned to his in-laws house at Damodarpur last week.
