Mumbai: In a bid to increase penetration and create more awareness about insurance in the country, private insurer Future Generali on Saturday launched `Insurance Week`.

"Given the alarming low insurance penetration in India, if `Insurance Week` can make a small tangible difference to the way we Indians perceive insurance, I believe we would have made a huge brand leadership statement with tangible long-term impact," Pantaloon Retail Managing Director Kishore Biyani said.

This week aims to change the perception for the need for insurance, to shake people out of their inertia and create an occasion for buying insurance products, Future Generali India Life Insurance Managing Director and CEO Deepak Sood told reporters here.
