Youth’s body fished out from pond; murder suspected

Boudh: The body of a youth was fished out from a pond in Krushnapalli village under Purunakatak of Boudh district on Friday.

A few locals spotted the body floating in the pond this morning and informed Purunakatak police about the incident.

Sources said police have recovered the body and initiated an investigation into the incident.

"The identity of the youth has not yet been established. As injury marks have been found on the body, it is suspected that the youth has been murdered," said a police official.

He further stated, “It is suspected that the murder took place some three to four days back. We have sent the body for post mortem. Only after getting the report, we will be in a position to reveal more about the incident.”
