Youth slits own throat over family feud

Cuttack: A youth sustained severe injuries after he allegedly slit his own throat over a family feud in Patapol area under Cantonment police limits of Cuttack district on Tuesday.

As per sources, the youth, identified as Srichandi, slit his throat with a knife in a bid to commit suicide. Critical, Srichandi was rescued and rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital where he is undergoing treatment.

Getting information, police rushed to the spot and began an investigation into the incident. "Srichandi has been admitted to SCB. As per preliminary investigation, it is suspected that the incident is an outcome of family feud. Probe is on to find out the actual reason why he took this step," said a police official.
