Paddy trader shot dead in Rourkela

Rourkela: A paddy trader was killed allegedly after unidentified bike-borne miscreants fired at him near Bagadega Chhak under Bisra police limits in Rourkela on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Haridarshan Sahu.

As per sources, Hari was procuring paddy in the Chhak this morning when three unknown persons came on a bike and fired few rounds of bullets at him before fleeing the spot. Though Sahu was rushed to hospital, doctors there declared him brought dead.

Getting information, police rushed to the spot and initiated an investigation into the incident. However, the reason behind the firing has not been ascertained yet. "Sahu was fired at by few miscreants and got killed on the spot. An investigation is on to nab all the absconding assailants," said a police official.
