Notorious criminal Babu arrested after encounter in Ganjam

Ganjam: Just two days after arresting two notorious criminals including Babool Paswan, a leader of Jharkhand Prastuti Committee in Ganjam, police on Sunday nabbed another criminal following an encounter.

As per information, a special squad of Khallikote police raided a spot near Pendara palli area after getting information about the hiding of Ramchandra Sahu alias Babu and his aide Rinku Patnaik.

During the raid, police managed to shoot Babu and injure him, while his aide Rinku managed to give them a slip and fled the spot. Injured Babu was later admitted to MKCG Hospital in Berhampur.

Police has recovered 1 country-made pistol, two rounds of live ammunition from their possession.  

Ganjam Superintendent of Police Asish Singh said Babu and his aide are involved in more than a dozen cases criminal cases.

The district police had on Saturday arrested Babool Paswan and his associate Jitendra Nayak after an encounter near Nidhiapalli and another area called Gallery under the jurisdictions of Bhanjanagara and Tarsingi police stations respectively.
