Man's head chopped off over alleged political enmity

Berhampur: In a spine chilling incident, a headless body of an elderly person was recovered at Olamba village under Badagada police limits in Dharakote block of Ganjam district last night. The accused was arrested while he was going to surrender before police with the chopped head.

For a few hours, the body was lying on the road without the head as the accused had absconded with it. The deceased was identified as Pandab Nayak of the village. The family members of the deceased alleged that Nayak was killed due to political enmity.

Sources said some people went to Nayak’s house and asked him to go out with them last night. Since Nayak did not return after a few hours, his family members searched for him. Later, his body was found with the head chopped off.

On getting information, Badagada police reached the spot and started investigation into the incident.
