Ganja worth Rs 1.2 lakh seized by BSF jawans, handed over to police

Jeypore: BSF jawans seized a mini truck loaded with 610 kg ganja worth Rs 1.2 lakh near Sunki in Koraput district on late Saturday night.

The seized vehicle with the contraband items were handed over to Pottangi police, BSF sources said.

Acting on a tip-off, BSF troops of 120 Battalion intercepted the truck (OR-10-H 3249) at a check gate on NH-26 near Sunki and seized the illegal items. The driver managed to give a slip to the security personnel due to darkness.

The vehicle was heading towards Saluru of Andhra Pradesh from Pukkili of Odisha), BSF officials said.
